Our School Community
Leconfield Primary School has close links with the local and international community.
We feel it is important for our children to grow up feeling part of a community and learning how to both find and give support.
In this regard, the children of Leconfield Primary School work very hard to raise money and provide support for those less fortunate than themselves.
Their involvement in local and international community work makes us extremely proud.
Rotakids
Something we are infinitely proud of is our connection to the Rotary Club of Holderness.
As of 2016, we are currently the only school in Hull to represent the Rotakids branch of the prestigious club.
This year already, the Rotakids from our school have collected over £350 to buy 6 wheelchairs for people suffering with polio. These are now on their way to Africa.
Another incredible difference the hardworking children of our Rotakids have made to the lives of others is the £56 they raised and donated to Sight Saver.
This charity works to help people with failing eyesight in various countries. A tablet costing just 7p can save a persons eyesight. So the money raised by Westcott Rotakids has actually helped to save the eyesight of 2 villages (each costing £28!)
Links with Ghana
Our school is linked to a village high up in the Volta Region of Ghana, called Santra Kofi.
Through this link we have been able to support the village in several ways:
‘My child has progressed very well and is always happy when leaving school and ready to start the next day.’
‘Approachability of teachers and support staff is great, I’ve never felt that I’ve been too much trouble when needing to speak to staff.’
‘I like that both my children are supported and happy in school. Its great that I am able to speak with teachers and time is always made for parents.’
‘It is a well kept school with a calm and positive environment for the children to learn in. Always looking for ways to improve.’
‘Westcott is a lovely school. I feel like my children have really progressed whilst being here.’
‘I like the Award Assemblies not just for the children’s sake but I like to come in & see them showcase their achievements. Its great to see them looking proud & happy.’
‘The school always provides up to date information about what the children have been doing on Twitter.’
‘The choice of after school and lunchtime activities is great. The reward assemblies are also a great idea.’
